A feasible conclusion.
Mokou was born albino, an ill omen to the superstitious. She became the unwanted daughter of a prestigious clan. She was likely hidden away from public.
Kaguya became an unwanted daughter of a royal family. She fled the moon into exile seeking freedom and ended up starting a chain of events with freed Mokou at the same time.
They share a lot of features. They're both unwanted daughters of the prestigious, but neither will go away.

I prefer to think that over the millennia they'll drift from enemies to lovers and back again many, many times.

So more like an eternal relationship, but most certainly not always friends.
