It's an AU timeline where a meteorite hit Earth around the time Ivan started his rule in Russia. For his people to survive the cold merciless winter, he has them (and himself) merged with phantasmal Beasts. They became known as the "Yaga". The problem is... that only them and some animals survived. Human Order collapsed, so the timeline was cut off history and got marked from pruning. But didn't get pruned, this along with some other timelines survived, but only a small portion of it. It can't prosper or growth. The "alien invasion" is literally the Lostbelts hitting the now blank and textureless world and trying to anchor to grow and replace the panhistory with their own. They can prosper and do this thanks to the "Trees of Fantasies", their duty is to expand helped by a Crypter who is to assist the Lostbelt King.

The Yaga have lived in their pocket world for centuries have never seen the stars, or heard music, and have forgotten empathy in a world of the basis of survival of the fittest for the scarce food supplies. The last scene they have is Salieri playing Twinkle Twinkle Star for them as their dome shatters and they can see the starlit sky before their existence and timeline is denied/pruned. Actually is a very nice scene.
