I've got two worlds I frequently develop in my head, and neither of them are particularly edgy. At least, I hope not.

The first is more or less a traditional fantasy setting. Thatch-roof villages, cobblestone street towns, and bustling cities sprouting from grand stone castles. That sort of thing.
Probably the edgiest thing about it is the idea of monsters, creatures set apart from human, monstergirl, plant or animal. They don't fit into any local ecosystem, being magical rather than mundane, and will quite happily kill any living thing not of their own species.
There's debate about the link between monsters and monstergirls, because many types look like they could be related, and some monstergirls possess natural transformation abilities, like dragon-girls. Then again, there's monstergirls, and many monster species, that don't resemble one of the other at all. So naturally, there's humans who dislike monstergirls for that reason, humans who dislike monstergirls for other reasons, and humans who get along just fine with monstergirls.
Monsters are always a threat, but they're just something you need to be ready to prepare for. Villages need borders, capable fighters, and preferably someone competent in the use of magic. Towns often have knights and - if they're very lucky - a resident wizard. Cities are prepared to the point where only terrifyingly powerful or intelligent monsters will pose a threat to the populace. Travellers and explorers will risk encountering monsters in the wild though, which can be very dangerous.
Also, magic exists, and while monstergirls can more easily tap into it, a small percentage of humans, both men and women, are capable of learning it. Though it's slightly more common for those with a magical affinity to be enhanced by it in some convinient way, rather than be able to cast spells.
Finally, mamano mana and demonic/spirit energy doesn't exist, because that shit's stupid. Monstergirls are still alluring in general, and still do the sex good, and human women can potentially be corrupted, but KC's whole >MONSTERPUSSY BEST PUSSY SEX SEX ALL DAY EVERY DAY THEY LITERALLY SHIT LUST AND WILL ONLY THINK OF SEX AND WILL ORGASM WHEN YOU TOUCH THEIR PINKY FINGER
isn't a thing. Let's just say that all living things have a vital aura stemming from the soul, and bonding with another person causes a synergy in both vital auras. So human and monstergirl, or human and human, or whatever, they'll all get the nice things you'd expect from being together. Extended lifespan, more vitality from touching and just being together, and awesome sex. Even with human girls.

I've blabbered too much about this first headcanon, so I won't talk much about the second. It's basically just a sci-fi with a few twists. An alternate reality world where monstergirls were introduced in their equivalent of the 1970s, and magic is introduced as a real phenomenon along with them, but there's certain complications and ramifications because of it.

I'm the kind of person who thinks about these worlds more than I actually write stories set in them, but that's my own personal shortcoming. Worldbuilding in general is pretty damn fun.
