In the Fire Red 1.8 Enhanced it was some Tumeneco song. I kinda liked it but I'm sure I'm in the minority. Come to think of it I still need to get the gym leader music. That was pretty good.

The former has custom music/cries and a slightly modified script while the latter doesn't. The latter allows you to make use of branching evolutions at any point and I've heard good things about the difficulty. Pick your poison. If any complete(ish) 1.8 mods are missing post em.
