The direction and amount of its cgs like the aoko flashback at the beginning of the game and the multiple fights in chapter 5. What sets it apart visually from other vns (that I have read) is that it constantly has amazing and memorable cgs. like, for example, Dies Irae, has great CGs for its fights but you rarely see any memorable CGs outside of its fights unlike mahoyo witch I have a folder full of screenshots of random amazing-looking CGs and most of them are not even from the fights themselves.

I hate when jrpgs do that shit it is never synced well and it's always distracting

I don't know but anyone who says that is probably just talking out of their ass, though Mahoyo is the best-looking tm vn by a Country mile. Some vns I have not read but could have amazing visual designs are
