Kiara really drives home the mentality of a person who wants to be an idol. Consider this degree of dependence on having a huge number of people love you and approve of you. Can you imagine? Can you imagine craving affection from strangers this badly? It's really just bizarre but Kiara is teaching me that this mentality is probably a big part of what causes the idol industry to thrive. We tend to only see it from the consumer point of view but it really does attract emotionally unhealthy people as "talents." I love Kiara, and I'm glad she's enjoying her success, but the degree of revelry she expresses and the "wow, you guys saved my life" stuff really does make me think of how badly things would go for her if she never did get the fame she was craving.
