We really don't have a fully fleshed out concept of fairy lifespans or whatnot, but generally speaking, they always come back to life when killed and they are tied to a natural concept, like light, flowers, or even emotions and concepts like suffering (Clownpiece, probably). We don't really know how old any of the fairies are, but Cirno we know she's at least old enough to remember an event that happened 60 years ago. Also, fairies don't age past a certain point, so all fairies end up being child-like in appearance and in their nature. It's unknown how fairies maintain their population numbers or how they reproduce, but given all fairies are practically immortal and unaging, they could be the equivalent of WH40k Orks and be a horrifying scourge on the galaxy if they somehow learned to clump themselves into giant fairy balls and launch themselves into space and if they're able to terraform planets in order to reproduce and make more fairies. Pretty sure fairies can survive vacuum-like conditions on account of Clownpiece and co. fighting Reimu/Reisen/whoever in the Real Sea of Tranquility.
