So out of curiosity how long did it take /jp/ (assuming you play) to clear their first easy/normal/extra/hard/lunatic in Touhou?

I've been playing for ~2 hours a day for the past week and all I've managed to do is clear them all the games on easy. I tried STB/DS but since those don't have difficulties some of the spells just seemed absurd.

How do you get better at schmups? I've heard that people don't really look at their hitboxes but I don't understand how you would dodge. Does reading skill come naturally as I play more?

And could anyone tell me the real guidelines to death bombing? I assume it would allow you to bomb AFTER getting hit but besides IN this doesn't seem to be the case.

I have tried this by closing my eyes and pressing the bomb button as soon I hear the death noise but that has never worked. ever. Is it even possible to do it by noise? Or is the window just absurdly tiny
