I think that it is all about the music
I think that the Kamis do add to the enjoyment of the overall end product
I also think that the Babybones were fine when they weren't trying to pass off as a legit metal band
I think that Babymetal was at their best just before their self-titled album, and slightly after their s/t album was released
The whoacore album killed everything for me though, because it is about the music, and I can't enjoy that album and when they play it live

Oh, Sakura Gakuin and real idols in general are totally comparable to pro wrestling, that's its own thing.

In the last couple of years it went from 100% playback to like... 5? maybe 10%?

From the top of my head, their only parts that are fully playbacked is the bridge in IDZ where they give each other thumbs up, otherwise it's been ~99% live for at least a year now. Yui's mic being cut off when she flew off the stage in Budokan, as an example
