>she doesn't sound pretty

i hear ya. it's not an idol voice at all. that is a completely fair thing to say. people like you just have a preference for pretty idol voices.

Me, on the other hand, i personally don't care how pretty or cute a voice is. i feel like Eleanor's voice is just about perfect to me. It's considered to be "American English", which is very important to me. Sacrificing a little cuteness with her voice to make it "American" is only a small price to pay. It's like giving up a small chip of the aesthetics of Idol culture for something absolutely necessary. I need a voice like hers to help me resuscitate the vocaloid scene in the west. Vocaloid music means a lot to me, and I feel that the way forward for it is through Eleanor.

music isn't just about hearing cute girls singing whatever to me. I want my cute girl Eleanor to also help me sink into whatever imagination i want to be in. I want Eleanor to help me be a part of her reality. I want Eleanor to be the one to help me pretend that i'm at the beach with her. I want Eleanor to trigger my PTSDs and/or make me cry like a bitch by making me imagine im reliving those memories. I can't use my imagination easily without knowing the lyrics.

Of course, there are people who prefer cute-sy voices over sharper songwriting. I was just thinking "well, if I made this kind of music, would producers still keep a cute voice AND have better songwriting than usual?"

who am i kidding, though. i could go on forever about this. pardon me.
