Making a platform isn't that hard but making one that can support hundreds of thousands of users with features on par with youtube, especially ease of monetization, is really hard. What they should do is create a platform that can compliment holos streaming on youtube. For example an archive site with stream backups up for viewing in case something goes wrong with youtube. If they want more interactivity maybe they can create a virtual chat room there that people can use to watch youtube streams on, kinda like VRchat but just for Hololive and not necessarily in VR-only.
