But did you say, character development? In K-On? Oh puh-lez. They are all stereotypical characters. Especially Mio. I can't see a good character from any of them, nor development. Mio is a stereotypical shy girl. Haven't seen one of those yet. Oh, and Yui, wow, an optimistic moe blob. Tsumugi has a slight determined personality and is the best in character wise. And Ritsu is just a trouble maker.
My point being, the characters are generic, you see these kinds of characters in almost every half decent anime, and I haven't seen any development, (in character design and not instrument playing of course!) from the start. :L
