If it's to read manga and slowly learn the language then you're on your way
If it's to study at a Japanese University then you should be concerned
The brain is hardwired to reward itself for progress along a challenging path to a goal
If you are doing so, and it is fulfilling, then the goal and the checkpoints along the pathway to it are entirely up to you
Work towards goals you find meaningful and rewarding
Nothing else in life is as important
