Not exactly, but there is a feature that will match you with though or weak admirals.

Light green one is the thougher opponens
Dark green one is for more "casual"
Blue one is a mix of them.

IIRC, the blue one is set by default, and it is very likely you got a sudden batch of strong opponens.

Mind you, the easy one might still be a bit though at time for you.
