It was slow to get started, the repetition was annoying and the minigame was horrendous, yet someone despite all that I ended up liking it a lot. I couldn't honestly say it was outstanding in any regard apart from setting and art, but there were a lot of little things about it I enjoyed that got me to love it in the end. I'd put it 2nd or 3rd in my rank for the Steampunk titles(though I haven't played Gahkthun yet).

It was kind of refreshing how vague Mary and M's relationship was. I was fully expecting them to fuck by the end.

Maybe it was the theme or the fact that it was one of the first untranslated games I played but I loved it more than Inganock.
It helped that I don't mind otome games and love atmosphere games, I guess.

It's certainly not the best, and I took some liberties for a few lines. For example, I translated 'dance, dance' as, 'as you dance whirling around' to get more of a feel for the lyrics. Fuck it, it's up there anyway.

Sharnoth isn't better than Inganock by comparison (gathered from varying reviews, etc), so it's easy to predict its fate for the next polling due to all the hate and thirst for more Real Deal.

Oh yeah, Ammy devs stated their interest of translating this game into British English (if it wins).

That's almost the same as Inganock. Just that inbetween the sequence there's always new things to discover (part of the setting, major plot overshadowing, Gii's character development etc). Ixrec doesn't have big problem with this so he gave it almost perfect score (just like Chaos;Head), but I'm sure this will be the biggest polarizing factor.

So WAB series win by design; how many welldone VN features settings like darkfantasy steampunk City, mysterious gothic London and Arabian Nights? Even with its flaw no other titles/companies could match this element.

Currently Shikkoku no Sharnoth. /jp/ wouldn't like it that much if ever got translated, though, it has its faults.
May change when I finish Sekien no Inganock or Muv Luv Alternative, they both show a lot of promise.
