I've been where you are, anon. Listen to my story; I've began reading hanahira, slowly but surely re-reading each line I read once, twice, thrice to make sure that the kanji I'm reading slip into my brain matter.
I've burnt out for a while after that. I've barely finished the day the story began with. I was defeated. Nihongo kowai.

I hadn't checked the tags. I hadn't asked what the difficulty is. I knew it was sci-fi from the synopsis, and I knew that those tend to have jargon that would kill an EOP immediately should they cum unprepared.

This is my epiphany. This is what separates an EOP from a JOP. Why did we come to this medium? Why do we read it? Not just visual novels either, manga, anime, light novels, web novels, pixiv, everything in the otaku sphere...

Immediately, I downloaded her game. I read it like a total dipshit and had to hook almost all of the kanji, but compared to hanahira which took me hours every couple days to slog through and eventually drop, I managed to finish Tsukuyomi's route within the same week.
Stop being gay and calculative. Your Core2k deck means nothing, it's a supplement at best. Redditors and EOPs will tell you to slowly build up your knowledge and read textbooks. Heavens, what happens if you'd dare read something you wanna read too early? Gosh, what if you don't enjoy it properly?
