A problem with running it online would be that the game would sure as fuck get some players or maybe all players who are touhou aficionados already and it would likely turn into "let's go troll Remi" or some variant. That might be a fun game too but it's not really what I'm aiming for. Even if they insist on playing it as seriously as they can muster, they would know roughly what to expect and recognize characters from the first partial rumor of them.

Running it with my normal player group means that the players genuinely won't know what the hell they're in for and I got this feeling in my gut that their reactions to everything would be priceless.

Lullaby of Deserted Hell is my favorite stage theme and there are tons of great remixes of it, so I can't really complain.

Well, depressing for me seems to add a sort of apathy and quiet. Calling it "dark" without depressing just makes it sound too wild and feral which I don't find that appealing.
