The problem is those 2 things are rare to occur in a foreigner & japanese relationship and when they do it's usually bc the japanese person spent time living abroad and is proficient at english. A japanese person who's never left japan is not going to be so understanding and probably unable to communicate effectively to a foreigner.

Of course but some cultures just have massive differences with each other that make them incompatible. For example i'm pretty sure most coming from a western country aren't going to feel comfortable when their japanese gf starts pressuring them for marriage very early on in the relationship.
