Speak for yourself. The mob villagers in printworks are depicted as wearing exclusively simple kimono. In FS they had some variation, but it was still Edo period costumes (I believe there were a few komuso in the background). The closest I remember to someone being dressed in a different style was the nervous villager, and even then it looked a bit ambiguous.
