Rako, the girl in pink was the only one crying.
She was apologizing for sounding selfish and making it seem like they're barging into the two (because everyone was wanting Antama to remain a group of 2), and that she really enjoyed the atmosphere that the 5 of the have when they're together. The 3 of them really do want to be idols as well.
They actually initially had this discussion from a while back, so this wasn't something suddenly decided upon by the producer. Anzu and Tamaki themselves also want everyone to work together as well. It was less about increasing the numbers, and more about them wanting to do it.
Honestly, this seems like a misunderstanding caused by the producer and the awful atmosphere he made yesterday. You could hear how nervous he was, so he definitely wasn't used to doing that.
