I honestly didn't like Seija much at all heading into ISC. But after going through all those impossible challenges and crafting all our crazy plans, sharing our triumphs and our tears, I feel really close to her. We really shared something special.
There are so many times in real life when you have to smile to someone you want to punch. Seija would never do that. If she wanted to punch somebody she'd do it then and there. She doesn't care if it's right and she doesn't care about the consequences. She's probably never told a lie in her entire life, not because of some moral code, but because she doesn't have any reason to. She's the puppet without any strings, she's the egoist ideal. It's impossible not to admire her.
At the same time, her committal to her futile cause and her willingness to sacrifice anything for it has resulted in her losing everyone. She's far too stoic to show the horrible pain that this must cause her, far too determined to let it stop her. She's challenged the whole world to a game of chicken and her foot will never leave the gas pedal. This quest can only end in her doom. In that sense, she desperately needs to be rescued.
If she had one person, just one person, who would love her unconditionally, who'd stretch his arm down to her no matter how deep she digs her own grave, someone she could stand for instead of standing against, it would be enough. I don't know if I have the strength to be that man for her, but I know that if there's anyone who would love you no matter how many times you failed, it's Seija.
