Where did this myth come from? Nagato could not be closely examined like many of the other ships that were close to be test Baker center. Just because she had no immediate damage doesn't mean a small problem that grew bigger wasn't caused by the bomb.

Prinz was far away from both detonations. If anything it's embarrassing for the USN that she sunk.

Saratoga got considerable damage during the first test despite being far away but then again she is a wooden deck carrier plus she had aircraft aboard her with fuel.
And during the second test Saratoga was even closer than Nagato to the blast.

That said the only other explanation is that Prinz has the Krupp steel meme applied to her in gameplay.
