Cirno 10

Been trying to write something everyday, so I made a Cirno filler chapter.
--

The cold December mountain air blew past the pair as a Mishaguji swam through the ground, exposing the top half of its body, covered in pristine white scales, so Cirno and Suwako ran their hands against while they sat on their legs, Cirno’s stump has fully regrown now.

Suwako smiled lazily as they did so, even after all of these centuries she had never failed to enjoy doing this, and people never failed to be impressed by adorable Mishas, although they hated being called that. “Ya’ see these here, my Mishaguji, could also be considered ex-fairies due to being harvest gods, although that was early enough in history they wouldn’t even resemble the fairies of today,” Suwao said as stars appeared in Cirno’s eyes.

“Wow!” Cirno exclaimed as she continued to run her hand over the irate curse snake, before thinking for a moment. ”So, they’ve been like this since you got them?” The real question she asked was obvious, ‘why hadn't they grown’

Suwako shakes her hand in a so-so motion. “Well, growth really depends on the circumstances you find yourself in. After I subjugated them I placed part of myself in them in order to cement my position as a curse god. I don’t really allow them to do much anyway. Dismissing the Mishaguji, Suwako’s expression grew nostalgic, the eyes on her hat half-lidded, looking to the sky. “For myself, I started out like we all do, a base spirit that solidified into a fairy, after that it was a lot of allying and fighting, things we and still are pretty brutal in the outside world for fairies, youkai, and gods.” Her expression grew even more distant as she stood, looking out on the Moriya shrine’s lake she said. “Remind me to punch Kanako next time I see her.”

“So?...” Cirno trailed off as she flew next to her, Suwako didn’t exactly answer her question.

Still looking out on the lake rather than Cirno, Suwako spoke. “You’ll do fine, your un-ice-like attitude and instability will probably help you here. It took you decades to compare to the centuries I spent becoming a god, who knows where you’ll be a hundred years from now. “

“Un-ice-like?” Crino tilted her head, ‘Why can’t people be more straightforward? They always make things to Confusing.’ Even Okina vexed Cirno most of the time.

“Like I said earlier, I have no idea where you come from, the Misty Lake only freezes seasonally but you're around all year so it can’t be that, and it can’t be Youkai Mountain either, since you’re barely ever here. Not to mention you're barely even ice-like, if I had to make a guess just on your personality I'd say spring or summer fairy, not ice.” Suwako shook her head, turning from the lake and away from CIrno’s direction to walk back towards the living space behind the shrine.

“Is that bad?” Cirno asked she didn't understand everything Suwako was saying but it worried her.

Suwao shrugged as she walked, “Maybe, I dunno, I don’t go around inspecting and raising random fairies into godhood.” Suwako sounded too bitter to Cirno as she said that.

They reached the living space mostly in silence after that. Swinging open the door, Suwako yells "Sanae!" Suwako grew a mischievous expression, "Me and your senpai are here, you better have something ready for us!" Suwako chuckled as she said that.

Flying after her down the hall, Cirno came to a realization. "Hey Suwako? Where did Sanae come from?" Suwako stopped in her tracks.

“Huh?” It was like a shadow had been cast over the entire room as an aura began to radiate from Suwako.

“Like how’d you grow the parts, I know I don’t have them, and who was he?” Cirno’s question was completely innocent, without an inch of any other emotion on her face.

Suwako stood there, unanswering as she thought about the question, still emanating the same killing force before she opened her mouth and spoke. “As you persist more in faith, people will think of you more as a person and less as a fairy, you’ll grow into it. Also again, remind me to punch Kanako.” Suwako marched away towards the dining room, leaving Cirno only slightly less confused than before.

“Just be careful falling in love with and getting attached to humans, okay Cirno.” She could only nod in response.

If you know why Suwako is acting strange, you know. Also if it isn't clear enough, Faeries are basically children and gods are basically adults, base spirits or just spirit are basically newborns. I also wanted to set up or foreshadow how Cirno might react in how Suwako is here.
When Suwako refers to decades versus centuries she's talking about how long it took each of them to start to become a god, not that Cirno is equal to current Suwako in strength, she's not, Cirno is basically a tween or teen here to an adult like Suwako.
