Just in case you are so unprincipled that you meant all that: individuals are responsible for themselves. Even getting drunk is a choice and, truth be told, that was just part of her poor excuse soap opera of an apology while getting caught sleeping her way up (i.e. acting as a regular whore). Victimizing her within the context of being a poor women among brute men in general only reduces them all to irresponsible animals, nullifying any claim of ethical concern on their actions; so either women are free persons thus responsible for their faults or they're effectively weak and manipulative beings who deserve no consideration at all, validating misogyny at all.

TL;DR Sayuringo either did everything wrong or she was a valueless object anyway.

I wrote the content of that screencap and others, but it's my own (faulted) translation from french (http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/26681).).

However, if you do invest those 3-5 bucks on an english version at eBay I don't think you'll regret it (for further understanding the book, which can be difficult, try "Jeering Dreamers: Villiers de L'Isle-Adam's L'Eve Future at Our Fin de Siècle : a Collection of Essays").
