When I sent the photos and described the issue, chinks just pretended like that's how it's supposed to be, even though it's obviously an extremely serious issue. I'm sure they just neglected to plug these holes for my doll or maybe that batch. There is no way that's the intentional process, it's such an easy issue to fix at the manufacturing and skipping it doesn't save more than a fraction of a cent and a minute of time. So basically it's quality control and customer service issues for budget doll manufacturers, I think.

I doubt you'll find like a tradesman's guide. At best a blog or two in Mandarin which I've read before. Technology like injection molding already existed here before they took it up. That's why there's no secrets it's mostly the material supply chain and chemistry that I've seen them refine (or struggle with). It's a fledgling industry and it is heading towards robotic personal assistants. Tesla is in the game now too.

3D modelling is one thing but making the mold then injecting it with material, curing it, etc. another.

1, TPE blends suitable for the task are actually hard to get ahold of privately(non corpo supplier).
2, TPE melt temp is around 350F+, and throws off toxic fumes in the process
3, your plastic mold concept or "layered skin" is invalidated by point 2, unless you find some supermaterial that doesnt cost more than just buying a doll

for homebrews, platinum silicone is just way easier to get ahold of and work with, which is why you see random etsy customs made of silicone and not TPE.

as reference, something like this would be typical for how the holes are constructed and the brown part pulled out afterwards and then plugged. Depending on the exact method, some of them are connected to begin with to minimize skeleton access and then plugged after. Those plugs falling out isnt entirely unusual, whether its a $300 wish doll or a 5k doll.
