Hard to say, but I think my favorite overall Mai look came from 都会っ子 純情 (the hair being only a partial factor there), so that's... probably a nod toward straight. You're right, with the hat especially, she looks adorable there. That's of course not suggesting that the tied up styles can't be very lovely in their own right, they're all good I think, I just lean one way a little more.
