Exactly my thoughts, If I could make real anything I'd rather draw something that can grant me any desire rather than simply draw a single desire.

But if we are tied to some kind of living being, as the OP suggest,s then a square box doesn't work. A way to circumvent this would be to draw a character that will grant godlike power to the first person he sees and then disappear. But that's a bit too convenient.

If you are bound to existing characters
The genius of the lamp would be a good choice. But depends on the story, some of them are pretty much assholes.

But this fluffy thing in my pic, would probably be even better. I could ask her to create Gensokyo.
