Can /jp/ suggest me some good Light Novel?

I'm already reading Fate/Zero and i'm planning to read Baccano! next. I already read FMP.

I'm looking for something more serious, and less slice of life/harem.

Writing is teeerrible, character development is pretty bad or inexistent, Shirou is insufferable unless you are 12, heroes act like fucking tards most of the time, music choice is terrible repetitive and all the plot and fights resolves around Shurou's haxs.

How is Fate/Zero compared to FS/N?

I didn't like FS/N because of Shirou, but i love the setting and concept, also Kiritsugu seems awesome.

Kotomine and Kiritsugi would be my uncles that grew up together. They didn’t have children of their own so they doted on me in their own way since I was a baby. When I was a kid they’d come over to the family dinners and fight all the time (my mom medea would have to calm them down ALL the time. The said they couldn’t break the rules, but uncle Kotomine looked at her and said she was a rule breaker all the time). They’d talk to me and each would try to convince me to follow in their footsteps. Uncle Kotomine was the district attorney (I’d heard he prosecuted innocent people, but that was just a rumor I think), and he bought me lots of gifts like a new PC and a new playstation 3. Uncle Kiritsugu was the lawyer that lived in the slums and took on cases for the disenfranchised, he didn’t buy me much except cards but he always took me out with him to do stuff like help at shelters (it was pretty fun actually) and he even introduced me to his girlfriend (she looked like an albino – a hot one at least). They’d each try to convince me that what they were doing was best, and it would always bother me like I was some kind of debate team platform or something. One time when I was about 8 they pushed me too hard and I started crying. Boy, mom didn’t like that. She sent both of them packing.

No wonder it's more awesome than the game, it's how a real war should be. Spy tactics with Servants and CCTVs, alliances, Master assassinations with long range rifles, detailed pre-war planning, decoy strategies, picking off leftovers... etc. Fate/zero should be animated for the win.
