I've been wondering if the reason Medicine's differences from the other Tsukumogami could be due to her being something of a hybrid. If we assume the doll would have become a Tsukumogami regardless of where it had been abandoned, what if the conditions of the Nameless Hill were such that something else would have been born there if even if the doll hadn't been left there, like a poison fairy or some other sort of youkai? What happens if the conditions for creating a new fairy/youkai/whatever were to overlap with the conditions for creating another similar entity, and so instead of two of them being born, there was just one with the traits of both?
