Haven't quite been able to get a confirmation on whether Sojobo himself is considered to be alive, as part of a timeless folklore that takes place "right now", or if he's considered a "historical" folklore character who was alive but very old in the 13th century, but hasn't been seen since.

There should be an archived thread that listed all variations on tengu, as they are today.
Generally speaking, all have some variation on avian or canine features, but only Touhou makes the clear distinction of there being "crow" and "wolf" tengu.

Come to think of it, there is a second "household" on the mountain, quite a lot older and firmer established than the Moriya shrine.

Although they don't really count as a Touhou household since they don't follow the midboss(es)->level boss->final boss structure.
