In fact it still fits within the context of my argument. Auau's cat can still be the basis of Bernkestal. Auau bases Rika off her cat. Rika is the basis of Bernkestal in Higurashi which evolves to the Bernkestal in Umineko. At the end of the day the intial basis of Bernkestal still remains the cat. Rika is just an intermediary between the initial idea of the character and a final idea of the character.

Using in-universe logic:
Every story is a Kakera. There a multiple variations of a character depending on the world. The only exception to that are Voyager witches who do not have alternate variations. Both Umineko Bern and Higurashi Bern are voyager witches. Since there can't be two of the same voyager witches, they have to be the same.

Using both in-universe elements and out of story logic we still arrive at the same conclusion. Your theory and my theory fit.
