You seem to be speaking solely for a min/maxing point of view, in which case FFT is just as guilty as TO is. Archers and Ninjas are both stupidly overpowered in TO, yes, but are you telling me Orlandu, Brawler Ninjas with 97 bravery, and Calculators weren't? Not to mention grinding in FFT was the easiest and most broken thing to ever exist in an SRPG. Both games had useless classes and abilities, let's just be honest.

They amount of customization available in both is completely dependent on what you make of it. And as someone who plays games for fun, the amount of characters usable along with the skill system gave me far greater variety in TO than I ever had in FFT.

Props to FFT:WotLK for making Rafa almost decent though. Being able to one-shot the final boss if luck was on your side was never so fun before.
