/jp/ has always been pretty autistic, but this entitlement bullshit is new. No one owes you anything if you're blocking their ads and not paying you anything. I'm not sitting on a high horse, I shamelessly pirate everything, but you are literally costing the Danbooru owner money and complaining about what he's giving you. That's pretty shitty.

Not to mention, it's actually funny that you guys promote Gelbooru over Danbooru, when Gelbooru's interstitial ads are a million times more annoying than anything on Danbooru.

Those are fair points, but the Danbooru owner:
Writes the software that runs the site
Pays for the servers that run the site, and the bandwidth capacity you use up when you visit it (and it is not fucking free to host a site of Danbooru's size or traffic, have you even tried to do the math?)
Has to deal with the retard rodeo on the forums

I think that entitles him to do whatever he wants with his own site, including putting up ads that I block, and offering additional functionality if you pay a fee that I probably never will.

Lest anyone think I'm sucking Danbooru cock or something, this goes for every fucking free service on the internet. If you aren't paying anything, you are the product, not the customer. You have no say, except the choice not to use the service. Get that through your heads and enjoy your free lolicon search engine.

Yeah, I browsed 420chan for quite a while as well. I left quite a bit later (2008-ish), as they deleted their anime board and started banning people for talking about it around the same time that I got back into anime. Remember "Lucky Star Appreciation Threads"?

I never got into 7chan, but 99chan was decent for a little bit. iichan (or "The Wakachan Network" or whatever they're calling it) has always been a little too dead for me to participate in, but I had a good few weeks digging through their threads.

I liked textboards for a while, not sure why I stopped visiting them, other than /prog/ being overrun by /g/ when moot added the link to the textboards.

I doubt anyone in this thread remembers this night, but I'll keep posting this image anyways.

IIRC, Enix started off as a bunch of nerds that owned a computer shop in Akihabara that imported Apple IIs. One of them got the idea to make a game, and the company took off from there.
Given those seedy beginnings, I don't blame them for hiring some artists and a crappy programmer to hack together a few tasteless eroges.
