If we're going to go that far, why not put Battler in the same room? After all, that implicates him pretty badly, to be in the same room as Maria performing such degrading activities. The only comfort being that both Battler and Maria were killed by another, and Battler was still not a killer. Would Ange hold that truth close in her heart? Would that be her desperate method of dealing with the gross reality that her onii-chan was a pedo rapist lolicon?
Or, even worse, would the fact that the two were found smiling haunt her even more? After all, the only thing that could make the whole situation worse was that the two were into it. There's no way of seeing your big brother and big sister innocently, after the pictures broadcasted, shown, posted everywhere showed just how dirty the two of them were. There's no escaping that hole, especially at St Lucia, where she would never be able to read Maria's diary in peace, her one solace in that hellhole, without thinking of the stark, scary reality that she knew, the creepy, almost at peace smile that she had worn, covered in her own onii-chan's fluids. She'd never be able to hide from it, continuing to have it get rubbed in her face by classmates, that they can make fun of her for having a lolicon brother who spent his last moments degrading the youngest person there, even occasionally joking that Ange might have preferred to be in Maria's position instead.
And on cold nights, that's exactly what she'd think. If she was on that island, if onii-chan would have thought of the same thing about her, if his big hands had wrapped around him and...
There's no way Ange would be able to handle that all forever. It'd be no surprise once they found her body at the base of that skyscraper.
