You put words on a page, which will invariably be crap, and then you edit them until they're as not-crappy as you can manage. Repeat forever. I think people tend to struggle with one or the other, since actually getting the words out requires creativity, and editing them so they're good requires technical writing skill. I lean towards the latter, myself.

I wouldn't worry about this one as a beginning writer. There's nothing wrong with learning through imitation; even if the premise and events of your story are blatantly ripping off something else, the execution will be yours. And I think as you keep writing, you naturally develop a desire for novelty that'll produce new ideas.
