Strong worldbuilding especially for an eroge
Some of them have solid gameplay, even the ones that don't have at least average gameplay
Good mix of vanilla with some hardcore scenarios (Mostly optional in the later games)
People like Orion's art

It's an incredibly old series so as a result people who stuck with it grow attached to the characters and storytelling, it's like the Dragon Quest or Ys of hentai RPGs
