>Oh, that must be way harder for you than it was for me
I'm not sure. I think it hurts a little more when you are new to the game. It feels to me like newer players usually take a bigger emotional toll than the more experienced ones. The only difference is that you can usually pick yourself up faster, and so you can dismiss it more easily. I've burst into tears upon losing runs in the past, but I don't really do that anymore, even though I play much harder runs that I only have a chance to beat every few months. I remember looking at UFO Lunatic and being very intimidated, but beating it is very easy for me now. One day, I'll probably be able to do NBNUFO runs at will, but that a little ahead of me now.
>Also, do you think it would work for me to practice every DS spellcard, and then go back to play the usual canon games?
You don't have to do all of them, but playing DS certainly wouldn't hurt. I would just recommend to play what you like; you really can't go wrong. I would never tell you to do something you don't like just for the purpose of getting better. If you like DS, go for it.

Actually, I'm in a similar position to you. I've been trying to figure out how to get better at UFO Lunatic as well. I've somewhat accomplished this by making my own shmup and using it as a playground for practicing dodging. 90fps and Ultra mode have also been nice to me. You might want to look into those. The best way to improve is to challenge yourself and play more.

As long as you are playing, you are doing something right.

I can't figure out what it's talking about. I've never seen a message like that before.
