She is well-acquainted with Reimu and Marisa. She gets very excited when Reimu asks her about books of youma. Kosuzu says she is the no.1 collector of books of youma in Gensoukyou.

It seems that her ability is to read books that cannot be understood by anyone else. It is not an ability that she was born with but rather something she just recently gained.

Reimu says those books are dangerous and youkai sealed in them could jump out anytime. Kosuzu says when that happens, she will be counting on Reimu to do her job (youkai extermination).
