Then I suppose we're just too different. I see something like this and see it as the author having an idea that didn't work with the existing canon, so the author decides to make it into the canon. And since yukkuri is completely fan based, there is nothing to stop him. This certainly wouldn't be possible with the tendril method of giving birth. The same applies to a lot of images that utilize this method. There are also several things used in yukkuri that require the tendril method, like alice rape troupes squashing non-alice young. You can't do that with mammal birth.

There's also the 'pop' method from a birthing hole. Mitosis and emerging from a dead yukkuri seem to have faded out. Birthing methods are really just made up on the spot by the authors if it sounds interesting.
