/jp/ - Otaku Culture

So I'm almost through Utawarerumono Futari no Hakuoro and honestly, I'm pretty disappointed by the two new games.

I played all three games after each other, with no knowledge about any of them. The first one was just amazing, I loved it. Fast pacing, interesting stories, great characters. The middle part was a bit weak compared to the rest but I still loved it.
Second one was a complete disappointment. Like 80% of SoL scenes. Some were cute, but most just made me sleepy. MC was boring, main heroine acted as if she was his mother. The ending just made me mad.
Everyone kept praising the third one so I kept my hopes high, but up to now it's still vastly inferior to the first game. Like, the war was great, but there were just so many fillers. And they didn't even let us feel great for winning the war since that was thanks to the big bad guy helping out. And now, at the end, they shove in some Hakuoro and stuff from the past to make old fans happy. Just feels so forced.

I'm still not done, but up to now it's just been one huge disappointment compared to the first game. I don't understand why the new games are praised so much or how anyone could say that they're better than the first.
