I'm still surprised at how badly they managed to fuck up Jewel Princess considering how much money they seemed to be pouring into character design, game assets, CVs, and overall polish.

PvE that turns repetitive and sort of thoughtless once you figure out the easiest strategies is one thing. But the PvP arena is a shitshow that's not fun for whales due to the characters they whaled out for being slowly stunlocked and murdered with damage that ignores the stats they put into them, while free players still have to deal with the rampant CC/status in addition to the aforementioned whales maiming them on sight. And this is without getting into the dumpster fire that is Sapphire, which makes the balance team look completely clueless at best but is probably too late to nerf or remove without scaring off the 1-2 whales who are actually funding things.

I expected better from this game when I played it during closed beta, but the easy availability of 6*s and Spectra have really made the flaws in the game's engine more apparent, and I'm not sure how many can be fixed. CC and status still wreck everything else, the AI is still just as horrendous as it was, and most units are still using the exact same placeholder stats they did a month ago (all of the Spectra except Topaz/Emerald have identical HP, ATK, and DEF if you didn't notice; that's the tip of the iceberg here). Not only that, but having no listed rates in the gacha for drawing Spectra units ticks off all sorts of warning flags for me.

Sorry for leading everyone on and building up the hype, anons. I still have some hope even now, but they've got a real uphill battle to fix this shit. I'll probably be continuing to check into the game once every month or two, but I doubt it'll last the year.
