I reckon Sanae checks on the branch shrine fairly regularly. Plus, they *are* working on a cable car directly to the main shrine.

Also, you wouldn't stand a chance in hell to make it to tengu without powers. The mountain gods would propably drive you away or tell to wait for the shrine maiden. And the tengu seem to be more interested in keeping the intruders away from their turf rather than outright mauling them. The kappa on the other hand cannot be accounted for, considering how their occupation as a cute engineering nerds kinda contrasts with their original brutal legends.
