Honestly, I think crying about how many times a character shows up in the games, no matter which one, is always silly. Even more so when there's always people complaining at the same time that ZUN should introduce less new characters and work more with the current ones (although it could be said he should give less used ones a chance). That said, I don't dislike Aya because she's "ZUN waifu" or because she's a "crowslut" or because she's not Mima or anything like that.

Seriously, did any Aya fan read that? The only reason someone would still like her after it is if he likes sly, opportunistic and selfish characters, who sneaks around after people; would rather be an abysmal, shameless annoyance for some information than to have minimal respect, just as the stereotypical paparazzi; speaks well of herself on her own articles; does not mention Reimu even once on her articles about the incidents because "she wasn't there to see Reimu do it, and only writes about the absolute truth!", while at the same time making open accusations against people in the newspaper based on "it's most likely" or "I assume"; drops the convinced attitude around Suika and acts all respectful only to her, just because she's an oni; lies to people in order to get them to act recklessly and cause events for her to write about... and so on.
