i'm a bit confused here, so i'd just like to get someone else's interpretation.
this line follows a question of "If a student confessed to you, a teacher, what would you do?"
the teacher says that he can't let it happen since he's a teacher, and then the character who asked the question gives their interpretation
"先生の教え子でもないですけどね"
the でもない is confusing me the most here, but i'm interpreting this as her saying that the person confessing is not just a student/them being a student shouldn't be relevant.

i attached one screenshot with the line i'm referring to in case it helps give context. this honestly feels like a dumbass question, but i'd like to get it off my mind.
