It was intended due to the nature of her character. I had planned to end her story with the bad end timeline not really being fixed but still split apart from the timeline she ended up fixing, so she's stuck in it for good. In it she laments that Victoria is gone and (chances of) Victory is gone, and that she is all that is left, she is Derrota, she is Defeat.

This is because her sole existence signifies their defeat, since she was born in the bad end timeline, so if she's not erased it means the timeline was not fixed, and defeat was gonna come sooner or later. Then I decided that ending was too sad, so I scrapped it and had it end with a timeskip where the paladin now old af meets the Derrota that is born in the fixed timeline.

So yes, she's called defeat because she IS defeat, regarding story elements.
