That resignation could've been about something way better than 'the expectation he'd be the obvious loser in whatever measurement of love Yasu eventually came up with and inevitably get kicked out of her messy mind', but instead the whole thing ends up just being something that the forgery writers stuck on to make Kanon look like he personally had something important instead of no doubt actually being Yasu standing around spaced out being depressed or worrying about whatever. It really is a shame that Kanon gets stuck as being just a persona, it makes even the whole thing about him and Jessica not knowing the reason behind their love for one another but wanting to find it mean zilch. No doubt R07 would call it some form of loveless, but it really does make it seem like instead Yasu doesn't even love Jessica and is just using her to build the character of Kanon more, thus throwing Kanon even more under the bus. It's hard to see these things with love sometimes.
