tl;dr, I made this thread for /jp/sies to post about any kawaii "2D" otaku oriented things outside of, or at least tangential to, the basic cartoon, music, and game spheres. Even though it seems like I'm asking questions, the purpose is to prompt discussion.

Some topics:
What's some real niche moe shit to get into outside of anime, manga, mainstream video games, figures, denpa, and VNs?
I'm not personally interested in Shimeji and Ukagaka, although I've messed around with Rainmeter skins. Are there any other things like the old Omamo Ringo-san winamp visualizations or the even older Osaka-sim/Shuffle House/Lucky Star no Mori things?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgPMCiIeJKg
(Both Omamo Ringo and Osaka Sim were made by the same group http://www.hirahira.net/products/index.html, so I'm not really expecting anyone else to have made something similar)

I've seen people make game boy roms and similar. Is there a scene for that? I expect things like PC98 to be popular though. Maybe something like an otaku demoscene but I've never been into that so I wouldn't know where to begin.

Are there any popular dress up things /jp/ has been messing with lately? I've seen the recent "AI" threads with those sites that merge anime girls images together until you get something you like and they're eh. I've seen those threads about the avatar maker things too, but I mean like a full on dressing up game or erogame, something like DanceXMixer or Illusion's latest kusoge or that one cheap thing people used to make 2D VN characters for a while.(the one in this image https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Chara04.png))

What sort of horrors did the meido wars instill into the girls we know today? How do they maintain their smile in the face of those evils? Despite everything, I believe maids are still olev.
