EOSD used a lot of Western things, and other than vampires the most famous Western monster would be dragons (written in English).
But since dragons also exist in the East, I took that thought and put it into Meiling...'s hat. I was continuously trying to come up with ways to be unexpected, so I thought a Chinese girl guarding a Western mansion might work.
And that's where Meiling comes from.

An easy to understand opponent who uses magic to attack.
Anyway, I wanted to make a character who had a system behind their attacks, especially one that would seem to have a full department store of techniques.
Magic is easy to understand, right? It draws on the depth of games.
My personal image of a magician is someone who's strong without needing to move, and so weak physically that they don't go out much, so that's what she is.
