I wasn't calling you out or anything, I was just explaining why the myth was silly. Speaking of bayonet myths, there was a myth among Allied soldiers during WWI that German sawback bayonets were designed to cause horrific wounds by cutting the victim up (depending on who's telling the story, the rumor was propaganda disseminated to the troops). This caused Allied soldiers to treat Germans captured with sawback bayonets brutally, which led to many sawbacks being ground down to remove the saw blade. In reality, the saw blade was an attempt at turning the bayonet into an entrenching tool to help soldiers fortify their positions
