We've had this discussion before, but generally one of the hyperpowered youkai like, say, Yuyuko / Yukari could pretty much end the battle there and then, and Reimu's death would collapse the border due to the old Hakurei rule of her having the ability to step outside of reality and the fact that she, as noted in the spellcard rules, is pretty much crucial to gensokyo's existence.

It just wouldn't happen. Even with lasers.
